The leadership of The Gambia Police Force is currently holding a strategic security meeting at the Police Conference Hall with Regional Commissioners of Police and their respective Chiefs of Operations from across the country.
The meeting is chaired by the Inspector General of Police, Seedy Mukhtar Touray, and attended by the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Alhagie Demba Sowe, Assistant Inspectors General of Police Ebrima Bah, Pateh Jallow, Amie Nyassi, and Adeline Basangeh, alongside Regional Police Commissioners and Chiefs of Operations.
Discussions are focused on strengthening operational coordination, enhancing security collaboration, and reinforcing preparedness for election-related policing responsibilities in line with existing legal frameworks.
During the ongoing engagement, the Prosecution and Legal Affairs Team, led by Commissioner Abdoulie Sanneh, is providing guidance on police obligations under the Election Act and the importance of compliance with electoral laws throughout the voter registration process and beyond.
The meeting forms part of the Gambia Police Force’s continued efforts to promote professionalism, public safety, and peaceful electoral processes nationwide.
