The Ministry of Justice has requested the Inspector General of Police to submit the complete case file after receiving the Coroner’s Inquest Report concerning the death of Omar Badjie, who died in Mandinari in September 2025 following an encounter with law enforcement officers.
The report, which was transmitted from the Office of the Honourable Chief Justice, is now under review by the Attorney General’s Chambers for appropriate legal action.
Authorities say the Coroner’s findings, including recommendations on possible prosecution of any implicated police officers, will be carefully examined. The Ministry has stressed that where evidence supports it, legal action will be taken without hesitation.
The government has acknowledged growing public concern over the incident and is urging citizens to remain calm as the legal process continues.
The Ministry of Justice has reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the rule of law and protecting the rights and dignity of all citizens, adding that further updates will be communicated as the matter progresses.
