Banjul, The Gambia – May 2025
The Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Center stands today as one of The Gambia’s most iconic architectural and diplomatic landmarks. Built through a $50 million investment by the Chinese government, the center represents a new era of strategic international cooperation between Banjul and Beijing.

Designed to host international summits, including the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the center not only raises The Gambia’s diplomatic profile but also boosts conference tourism, foreign investment, and bilateral visibility. Its completion has placed the country firmly on the map as a host of high-level global dialogues in West Africa.
