The Government of the Republic of The Gambia wishes to inform Gambian nationals in Spain who submitted their Certificates of Character under the Spanish Regularisation (Amnesty) Programme through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad that the authentication process has been successfully completed.
This follows the Government’s earlier announcement of 3 February 2026 regarding the initiative by the Government of the Kingdom of Spain to regularise the status of undocumented migrants.
In line with its commitment to providing consular support to Gambians abroad, the Ministry introduced a streamlined authentication process, as outlined in its Press Release of 2 April 2026.
The Ministry is pleased to confirm that all submitted Certificates of Character have now been duly authenticated by the relevant authorities and returned to Banjul.
Beneficiaries are hereby informed that the authenticated documents will be available for collection from Monday, 11 May 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad in Banjul.
For collection arrangements, beneficiaries may contact: Beneficiaries, or their duly authorised representatives, will be required to sign for receipt upon collection.
All concerned are encouraged to collect their documents promptly in order to comply with the timelines established by the Spanish authorities.
