Barrow tells Gambians to reject opposition inducement

President Adama Barrow has cautioned Gambians against the opposition’s attempts to lure them with empty promises and inducements.
Addressing a group of people from Upper Niumi and Jakadou at State House on Saturday, President Barrow emphasised the importance of Gambians staying true to their democratic principles and rejecting any form of inducement that could undermine the country’s progress.
He said Gambians must remain vigilant and united in the face of opposition tactics designed to divide and manipulate. He urged citizens to prioritize the nation’s interests and reject any attempts to compromise their values and principles.
President Barrow added that The Gambia’s future depends on the collective efforts of its citizens.
The Gambian leader stressed that his leadership and vision serve as a guiding light, inspiring Gambians to work together towards a more prosperous and united future.
“I urged Gambians not to give up or allow anyone to distract them. They will come with their D1000 and small boreholes to convince you that President Barrow is not good but don’t let them confuse you because none of them can bring you roads or electricity despite all their noisy,” he said.
The president said Gambian women are even more vulnerable to political deception.
He added that the developments his government brought to the country is visible to all Gambians and there is commitment to do more.
Mr Barrow said he has a lot of plans to extend his government’s developments but would only announce them when the resources are available.
He declared: “I am real. I am not a politician. When I promise I always deliver. This is why I don’t make empty promises. I only promise when I am certain the finances are there to deliver the promise.”
