Sibanor United defeated Serekunda FC 2–1 in Week 23 of the Gambia Football Federation Second Division League in a competitive encounter. Serekunda FC started strongly and pushed for control early in the game, but Sibanor United remained disciplined and gradually grew into the contest.
After a tight first phase, Sibanor United made their pressure count, finding the breakthrough to take the lead. Serekunda FC responded with efforts to level the score, but Sibanor United’s defence held firm.
In a decisive moment of the match, Sibanor United added a second goal to extend their advantage before Serekunda FC managed a late response to reduce the deficit to 2–1.
Despite late pressure, Sibanor United maintained their lead until the final whistle to secure all three points. Elsewhere in Week 23, Kanifing East edged Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) 1–0 in a tightly contested match at Serekunda East Park, continuing their push in the league standings.
At the Live Your Dreams Football Complex in Basori, Elite United produced one of the standout results of the week, defeating league leaders Colley Stars 2–0 in a strong performance.
In another fixture, Serekunda United and Faraba Boys Baloor Sarr FC played out a goalless draw at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field, with both sides sharing the points after a balanced contest.
Week 23 continues to influence the league table as teams battle for position in a tightly contested second division season.
