The government in Mali has sais its armed forces have regained control following coordinated attacks that targeted several garrison towns across the country.
The assaults reportedly hit multiple locations including Kati, Sévaré, Gao, Kidal, as well as areas near the capital, Bamako.
Authorities said security forces responded swiftly to the attacks, launching counteroperations that restored order in the affected areas.
Issa Ousmane Coulibaly said at least 16 people were injured in the incidents, adding that the situation has since been brought under control following the military response.
While officials insist that stability has been restored, the scale and coordination of the attacks have raised concerns over ongoing security threats in multiple regions.
The incidents highlight continuing volatility in parts of Mali, where armed groups have carried out repeated attacks on military and civilian targets in recent years.
Security operations are expected to continue as authorities assess the extent of the damage and reinforce affected areas. The government has not yet released further details on the identity of the attackers or whether arrests have been made.
