The Gambia Police Force is proud to announce that the Inspector General of Police, Seedy Mukhtar Touray, on Friday, May 29, 2026, emerged winner of the Security Leadership Award at the 6th Edition of the Africell and The Fatu Network Heroes Awards.
The award recognises outstanding leadership, commitment to public safety, security, institutional reform, and service to national development.
Receiving the award on behalf of IGP Touray, Police Adviser Mr. Tamsir Jasseh expressed profound gratitude to the Gambian people for the confidence, trust, and continued support shown to the Inspector General of Police and the Gambia Police Force.
He noted that the recognition reflects the collective efforts, sacrifices, and dedication of officers and personnel of the Force across the country.
Mr. Jasseh further thanked the organisers, particularly The Fatu Network and Africell, for recognising excellence and celebrating individuals and institutions contributing positively to national development and public service.
The award is dedicated to the entire GPF family, acknowledging the commitment of officers who continue t o ser ve the nation with professionalism, courage, and dedication.
